Setting Up and Managing Custom Alarms for Front-End Smart Events in the Diamond AIoT Console


The latest baseline update for the Diamond AIoT Console introduces enhanced support for the pass-through of front-end smart events, allowing for more customized and effective alarm management. This article provides a step-by-step guide on how to configure and manage custom alarms, including how to work with pre-added and default events, as well as how to add new custom alarms.


Applicable Models

The custom alarm feature and pass-through support are available for the following NVR models:

  • NVR 4XXX-EI
  • NVR 5XXX-EI
  • NVR 4XXX-4KS3
  • NVR 4XXX-4KS2/L

Custom Alarm Features

1. Pass-Through of Front-End Smart Events

  • Improved Event Display:
    • The events supported by the device are now displayed by default and cannot be deleted, ensuring that all critical events are accounted for.
  • Customizable Events:
    • Users can now customize the smart events that can be passed through. After adding the default events, the system displays AI camera events that are eligible for pass-through, allowing for tailored event management.

How to Configure Custom Alarms

Step 1: Configure Pass-Through Events

  • Navigate to Main Menu > EVENT > AI Settings > Custom Alarm.
  • Here, you can configure which front-end smart events will be passed through to the NVR for alarm handling.

Adding Custom Events

  • To add a new custom alarm:
    • Edit the Name: Provide a name for the new custom alarm.
    • Enter Event Code: Input the event code associated with the custom alarm. This code is typically provided by your R&D team or technical support.
    • Matching Rule: Define the matching rule for the event, which specifies the criteria that the event must meet to trigger the alarm.

Default Events

  • The system displays all supported events by default. These events are automatically included and cannot be deleted, providing a reliable baseline for alarm configurations.

Step 2: Search for Passed-Through Alarm Events

  • Go to Main Menu > SEARCH > Alarm Query > Alarm Info.
  • Select Pass-through Event for the Type to search and review all alarm events that have been passed through from the front-end devices.

Managing Events

Pre-Added Events

  • The NVR comes with certain events pre-added, which can be directly selected for inclusion in the alarm configuration. These events are essential and ensure that critical alarms are not missed.
