Optimizing Playback Operations in the Diamond AIoT Console

Applicable Models

The new playback features and optimizations are applicable to the following NVR models:

  • NVR 4XXX-EI
  • NVR 5XXX-EI

The latest update to the Diamond AIoT Console introduces several enhancements to the Playback page, making it easier for users to review and manage video footage. This article details the new playback features, including improved timeline control, target filtering, and date selection during video playback.

New Playback Features and Improvements

Enhanced Timeline Control

  • Filter Human and Vehicle Targets for SMD:
    • The updated Playback page now allows users to filter playback by human and vehicle targets using Smart Motion Detection (SMD).
  • Improved Timeline Interaction:
    • Users can now drag the timeline to easily navigate through video footage, which was previously restricted to clicking on specific SMD video clips.
  • Time Interval Switching:
    • The timeline can be adjusted to different intervals—2 hours, 1 hour, or 30 minutes—giving users more control over the playback experience.

Date Selection During Playback

  • Calendar Integration:
    • Users can now select a specific date directly from a calendar during video playback, streamlining the process of reviewing footage from different days.
  • Playback Status Retention:
    • When the date is changed, the playback status remains consistent with the previous state, except for the Stop, Previous Frame, and Next Frame actions, which reset.

Important Considerations

  • AcuPick Limitations:
    • When using AcuPick, the date cannot be changed, and the image will remain frozen during playback. This ensures the integrity of the AcuPick analysis while reviewing specific video segments.

How to Use the New Playback Features

Step 1: Filter Targets Using SMD

  • Navigate to the Playback page.
  • Apply filters for human and vehicle targets to narrow down the footage you want to review.
  • Playback > Filter Human & Vehicle Targets > Drag the Timeline

Step 2: Drag the Timeline

  • Click and drag the timeline to quickly move through the video. You can adjust the time intervals by selecting between 2 hours, 1 hour, or 30 minutes, depending on the level of detail required.

Step 3: Select a Date for Playback

  • Use the calendar tool on the Playback page to select the desired date.
  • The playback will continue from the selected date while maintaining the same status as before, except for any playback controls such as Stop or Frame-by-Frame operations.
  • Playback > Selecting the Date on the Calendar During Video Playback

Step 4: Note AcuPick Usage

  • Be aware that when AcuPick is active, the date cannot be changed, and the playback image will remain static during the review process.

Benefits of the New Playback Features

  • Streamlined Navigation: Enhanced timeline control makes it easier and faster to navigate through video footage.
  • Improved Filtering: The ability to filter by human and vehicle targets using SMD improves the efficiency of reviewing relevant footage.
  • Flexible Date Management: Selecting dates directly during playback without disrupting the session enhances the user experience and review process.
