Supported Zero-Channel Stream for DMSS App

Enhancing DMSS Streaming with Zero-Channel Stream Support on the Diamond AIoT Console

The Diamond AIoT Console's latest update introduces support for Zero-Channel streaming on the DMSS platform. This enhancement significantly improves streaming performance, making it smoother and more efficient for users to pull video streams on DMSS. Zero-Channel encoding allows the NVR to stream a combined video feed composed of multiple camera channels in a split-picture view, reducing bandwidth requirements while maintaining image quality. This article provides a step-by-step guide on how to utilize the Zero-Channel stream feature in the DMSS platform.

Applicable Models

The Zero-Channel stream feature is supported on the following NVR models:

  • NVR 4XXX-EI
  • NVR 5XXX-EI
  • NVR 4XXX-4KS3
  • NVR 4XXX-4KS2/L

Note: The new version of DMSS that supports this function will be released in mid-June.

Key Features of Zero-Channel Stream Support

1. Improved Streaming Performance

  • Smoother Video Streaming:
    • The updated baseline enhances the performance of DMSS streaming, ensuring smoother video playback and reduced latency for users.

2. Zero-Channel Encoding

  • Bandwidth Optimization:
    • Zero-Channel encoding allows the NVR to stream a single video feed that combines multiple camera channels into one split-screen view. This reduces the bandwidth requirements without compromising image quality.
  • Efficient Streaming:
    • By sending one combined frame instead of multiple frames from individual channels, the system optimizes network resources, making it ideal for environments with limited bandwidth.

How to Use Zero-Channel Stream on DMSS

Step 1: Add NVR to DMSS

  • Open the DMSS app and add your NVR to the platform by following the usual steps to connect your device.

Step 2: Access NVR Interface in DMSS

  • Once the NVR is added, open its interface within the DMSS app to manage the video streams.

Step 3: Select Displayed Channel

  • In the NVR interface, click to select the channel you wish to display.

Step 4: Choose Channel Zero

  • From the list of available channels, select Channel Zero. This will activate the Zero-Channel stream, showing a combined view of all configured camera feeds in one split-screen format.

Step 5: View Combined Channels

  • After selecting Channel Zero, you can view the combined video feed, which displays all the camera channels in a single split-picture view.

Benefits of Zero-Channel Stream Support

  • Optimized Bandwidth Usage: Zero-Channel encoding reduces the amount of bandwidth needed to stream multiple camera feeds, making it more efficient for networks with limited resources.
  • Improved Streaming Experience: Users can enjoy smoother and more reliable video streams on DMSS, with all camera feeds combined into one easily accessible view.
  • Simplified Monitoring: Viewing multiple channels in a single split-screen view simplifies monitoring and management of video feeds, especially in scenarios where bandwidth is a concern.
