How to Set Alarm Input (WEB 5.0)
This knowledge base article provides detailed instructions on setting up the Alarm Input function for devices using the WEB 5.0 firmware. Alarm Input allows the system to respond to external triggers, enhancing security by enabling prompt reactions to specific events.
Setting up the Alarm Input function is crucial for integrating external sensors and devices with your security system. This allows the system to react to specific events, such as door openings or motion detection, by triggering alarms. Proper configuration ensures timely and accurate responses, enhancing the overall security and monitoring capabilities.
Steps to Set Alarm Input
-
Product Model and Firmware Version
Ensure your device supports Alarm Input. This tutorial is based on WEB 5.0 firmware, though interfaces may vary across models and firmware versions.
Operation Description
Step 1: Login to your device.

Step 2: Navigate to Event > Alarm and enable the alarm function.

- Why Enable Alarm Input: Integrating external sensors through alarm input enhances the system’s ability to monitor and respond to real-time events, providing a higher level of security.
- Benefits of Alarm Input: Allows for the connection of various sensors, such as motion detectors or door contacts, enabling the system to trigger alarms based on specific external events.
Step 3: Select an Alarm-in Port and Sensor Type and set the Anti-Dither and schedule.

- Anti-Dither: This setting ensures that the alarm is triggered only once within the specified time, preventing multiple triggers from the same event.
- Schedule: Define the time periods during which the alarm input is active.
Step 4: Enable the event linkage to associate the alarm input with specific actions or alerts. Step 5: Click Apply to save the settings. Use the Default option to restore all settings if needed.
