How to Set Face Detection Function (WEB 3.0)
This article provides instructions on setting up the Face Detection function for devices using the WEB 3.0 firmware. Face Detection identifies and captures facial images within a surveillance area, enhancing security and monitoring capabilities.
Purpose and Benefits
Face Detection is essential for identifying and capturing faces in surveillance areas, creating detailed records for security purposes. This feature is critical for access control, attendance tracking, and improving security system accuracy. By capturing facial images, it enhances the ability to monitor and respond to events involving individuals, ensuring higher security and operational efficiency.
- Why Enable Face Detection: Activating this feature allows your system to detect and capture faces, which is crucial for identifying individuals and ensuring comprehensive security coverage.
- Benefits of Face Detection: By enabling Face Detection, your system can automatically identify and capture facial images, which can be used for security purposes, such as identifying intruders or tracking attendance.
Steps to Set Face Detection
Login to your device.

Setting > Event > Smart Plan and enable Face Detection.

Click Face Detection to set parameters.

Click Draw, you can draw a detect region or an exclude region, and the target filter, Pixel Counter can be set as well.

- Draw Detection and Exclude Regions: Use the icon to draw specific areas where face detection should be active or excluded. This allows you to focus on critical areas while ignoring irrelevant zones.
- Set Target Filter and Pixel Counter: Adjust these settings to refine the detection criteria, ensuring that only relevant faces are captured.
- Configure Effective Period and Delay Times: Set the effective period for face detection and adjust record and alarm delay times to suit your monitoring needs.
- Enable Face Snapshot and Face Exposure: Configure these options to capture clear and detailed snapshots of detected faces and adjust exposure settings for optimal image quality.
