How to Set Overlay (WEB 3.0)

This article provides a step-by-step guide for configuring the overlay function on devices using the WEB 3.0 firmware. The instructions may vary slightly depending on the model and firmware version of your device.

Overlay functions in IPCs allow for adding privacy masking, channel titles, timestamps, and custom text directly onto the video feed. This enhances video surveillance by providing additional context and information, improving usability and security.

Purpose of Overlay

Overlay functions in IPCs (Internet Protocol Cameras) allow you to add various types of information directly onto the video feed. These overlays can include privacy masking, channel titles, time stamps, and custom text. The key benefits include:

  • Privacy Masking: Blocks out sensitive areas in the video feed to protect privacy.
  • Channel Title: Displays the name of the channel or camera for easy identification.
  • Time Title: Shows the current time and date on the video feed, useful for documentation and evidence.
  • Text Overlay: Allows custom text to be displayed on the video, which can be used for additional information or instructions.
