How to Set PPE Function (WEB 5.0)

 

This knowledge base article provides instructions on setting up the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) detection function for devices using the WEB 5.0 firmware. PPE detection is used to monitor and ensure compliance with safety regulations by identifying whether individuals are wearing required protective gear.

The PPE detection function is crucial for maintaining safety standards in environments where personal protective equipment is mandatory, such as construction sites, factories, and laboratories. This feature helps ensure that individuals are complying with safety regulations, thereby reducing the risk of accidents and injuries. Proper configuration of PPE detection enhances workplace safety and compliance.


Steps to Set PPE

  1. Product Model and Firmware Version
    Ensure your device supports the PPE function. This tutorial is based on WEB 5.0 firmware, though interfaces may vary across models and firmware versions.
     

  2. Operation Description

    Step 1: Login to your device.

    Step 2:  AI > Smart Plan > Enable PPE Detection.

    Step 3: Click the Rule Config tab.

    Step 4: Click Add Rule to add a new rule and select the PPE Detection rule type. Only one rule can be added at a time.

    • Why Enable PPE Detection: Activating this feature allows the system to monitor compliance with PPE requirements, enhancing workplace safety.
    • Benefits: Ensures individuals are wearing required protective gear, reducing the risk of accidents and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.




    Step 5: Draw the detection area.

    • Draw Rule: Click to draw the detection area image.png, drag any corner of the box to resize, and right-click to reposition the box.image.png




    Step 6: Set the detection parameters.

    • Alarm Trigger Condition: Set alarms for mismatched or matched attributes. The system raises an alarm if the discovered object does not match the configured attributes.
    • Other Parameters: Configure settings such as Minimum Duration and Repeat Alarm Time.




    Step 7: Set the Time Plan.

    • If the additional time plan does not satisfy your needs, adjust the time as required.
    • Click Add Schedule to set arming periods by dragging the left mouse button across the timeline. Alarms will be triggered during the period highlighted in green.
    • Copy Configuration: Copy the configuration to specified days by clicking Copy next to a day and selecting the desired days. Use Select All to duplicate the setup for all days.

    • You can schedule up to six intervals each day.
    • Click Apply to save the rule. Use the Time Plan Table to add or edit additional time plans if needed.
