How to Set Video Metadata Function (WEB 5.0)

 

This knowledge base article provides instructions on setting up the Video Metadata function for devices using the WEB 5.0 firmware. Video Metadata enhances surveillance capabilities by enabling the system to analyze video content, providing detailed information about detected objects, events, and behaviors.
 

The Video Metadata function is crucial for advanced video analysis and reporting. By enabling this feature, the system can automatically capture and record detailed information about objects and activities within the camera's field of view. This data can be used for security purposes, people flow analysis and enhancing the overall effectiveness of the surveillance system.

 


Steps to Set Video Metadata

 

Operation Description

Step 1: Login to your device.

Step 2: Enable Video Metadata in AI > Smart Plan.

Step: Video Metadata > Next

Step 3: Click the Rule Config tab to begin configuring the rules.

Step 4: Click the Add Rule button to add a new rule and select the Video Metadata rule type.

Step 5: Click the Draw Rule icon to set the rule region or line.

  • Draw Rule: Use the left click on the image to draw the rule, and right-click to end the drawing. Regional rules will automatically close into a region when finished.
  • Modify/Delete Rule: Click the rule name to modify it or the delete icon to remove the rule.



Step 6: Set the parameters for the current rule.
Rules: Configure the rule effect period, alarm-out, people flow statistics and enable special target filters.

Step 7: Click Apply to save the rule. Use the Default option to clear Video Metadata settings if needed.

Step 8: Click the Global Config tab to set additional parameters.

Step 9: Set the parameters as needed.

Step 10: Click Apply to save the settings. Use the Default option to clear Video Metadata settings if needed.
