How to Import and Export Configuration Settings (WEB 5.0)

Ensure your device model and firmware version support import/export functionality. This tutorial is based on the WEB 5.0 firmware interface.

Purpose of Importing and Exporting Configurations

Importing and exporting configurations on IPCs serve to facilitate backup and restoration, ensure consistency across multiple devices, simplify configuration management, support disaster recovery, and assist in migration and upgrades. This functionality allows administrators to quickly replicate settings, restore systems to operational status after failures, and maintain uniform configurations efficiently, enhancing the overall manageability and reliability of surveillance systems.

 

Steps to Import and Export 


Login to the Device

Access the device's web interface.
Enter your login credentials to gain access.

Navigate to Import/Export Settings

Select System from the main menu.

Go to Manager.
Click on Import/Export.

Export Configuration File

Click on Export Configuration File.
Save the configuration file to your local storage.

Import Configuration File

Caution: Importing an incompatible backup file may cause abnormal device function. Always ensure that the configuration file you are importing is compatible with your device model and firmware version.

Click on Select File.
Choose the configuration file you wish to upload to the system. Camera will reboot after the configurations have been imported.
