***Note: You will need to download the DMSS app (gDMSS for Android and iDMSS for iPhone) from the phone’s respective app store.***

Please make sure the recorder is well connected to the Internet. And the status of the “P2P” shows Online and the DMSS linked to this device.

Let’s say the customer wants to receive a push notification on the mobile phone whenever someone trips the wire and triggers the alarm. Log into the system by entering the username and password.

After logging in, right click on the screen and select “Main Menu”.

On the Main Menu page, select IVS for XVR and AI for NVR.

When entering the AI setup menu, click on the “Parameters” tab on the left to enter the IVS setup page. Then, select the Add button to create a rule for the specific channel. For detailed line crossing setup, please refer to the document here -

Then in the Menu page, you may choose to log in with your account for more APP services, such as enable/disable the notification and schedule the notification time.

The snapshot on the left shows the General menu without an account signing in while the snapshot on the right shows the General menu you log in with an account. By default, the push notification is “ON”. So, no matter whether you log in with an account or not, the APP is able to receive notifications.

Return to the main menu and click on the “Message” icon for the alarm subscription. Click on the device that you want to enable the push notification. For example, the snapshot on the right below shows neither devices have push notifications enabled (Status show “Close”).

In the AI Analysis menu, you may select the Tripwire Alarm where you can select which channel you want to be able to receive the notification from. Please make sure the Tripwire IVS is well set up on NVR for the alarm push.

Return to the device alarm configuration page and remember to click on the “Save” button located on the top-right corner. You can also see there is one channel that has alarm push enabled in AI Analysis. And the status of Alarm Subscription will no longer show close, which means the selected device has set up receiving the alarm notification from now on.

When the alarm occurs by the tripwire IVS, your phone will receive a pop-up notification. (Different phones might have different notification indications, please refer to your phone user manuals for more details). When tapping the notification message on your phone, it will lead you to the quick playback page in APP.

iOS Issues

If you don’t receive notifications from DMSS on your iPhone (iOS12 and later and iPadOS), you may try the following steps.

- Go to Settings > Notifications, select DMSS, and make sure that Allow Notification is on.

- If you have notifications turned on for DMSS but you’re not receiving alerts, you might not have Banners selected. Go to Settings     > Notifications, select DMSS, then select Banners.

- Make sure that you’re signed in to your Apple ID.

- Make sure that Do Not Disturb is off.

- If you’ve recently installed DMSS or restored from a backup, open the DMSS to start getting notifications.
