How to Reset a Diamond Recorder Password


If you’ve forgotten the password to your ENS Titanium recorder, follow these steps to reset it. This process does not require internet access on the recorder itself.


Step 1: Select "Forgot Password?"

  • From the recorder’s login page, click on the "Forgot Password?" option.

Note: Internet access is not required on the recorder to perform this reset process.

Step 2: Enter Email Address (if applicable)

  • If you have not previously associated the recorder with an email address, you will be prompted to enter your email now.
  • If an email is already associated with the recorder, this step will be skipped.
  • You will be notified that the recorder will collect the Serial Number, MAC Address, and Email Address to verify the validity of the request.
  • Click OK, then Next to proceed.


Step 3: Choose a Password Reset Method
You have two options to proceed with resetting the password:

  • Option 1: Use the DMSS App

    • Open the DMSS App on your mobile device.
    • Navigate to Me > Tools > Reset Device Password.
    • Scan the QR code displayed on the recorder.
    • You will receive confirmation that a security code has been sent to the registered email. The email address will be partially censored but will display enough characters to verify the correct address.

  • Option 2: Use a QR Code Decoder
    • Use any QR code decoder app or tool to scan the QR code on the recorder’s screen.
    • Once scanned, the tool will decode the QR code and provide you with a string of characters.
    • Copy the entire string and send it via email to support_gpwd@htmicrochip.com
    • A security code will be sent to the registered email address.

Step 4: Enter the Security Code

  • Once you receive the security code, enter it in the empty field on the recorder’s screen and click Next.

Step 5: Set a New Password

  • After the security code is verified, you will be prompted to set a new password.
  • Enter your new password and confirm it by typing it again in the confirmation field.
  • Click OK to complete the reset.

Step 6: Confirmation

  • If the reset is successful, you will receive a confirmation message on the screen indicating that the new password has been set.
