This knowledge base article provides instructions on configuring and using a License Plate Recognition (LPR) camera with an NVR (Network Video Recorder). LPR cameras are crucial in smart parking systems, highway tolling, vehicle safety verification, and managing communities and parking lots. By integrating LPR cameras with an NVR, you can capture and process detailed vehicle information, including license plate numbers, colors, and other attributes, enhancing the effectiveness of your security and management systems.
LPR cameras automate the registration and verification of passing vehicles, making them essential for traffic management, parking automation, and security enforcement. The NVR can now receive and process detailed recognition information from the LPR camera, including license plate color and vehicle attributes, offering a more powerful and comprehensive solution.

Step 1: Enable the [Detection] and [Recognition] functions within the LPR interface.
Step 2: Configure the detection rules according to your requirements.
- Why Enable These Functions: The camera will capture the license plate of vehicles according to the detection rules you set, allowing for automated monitoring and data collection.
- Benefits: Enhances automation by accurately detecting and recognizing vehicle license plates, streamlining processes like access control and tolling.
View Captured Information
Step 3: The information from captured images will be displayed in the right bar of the [Display] interface.
- Why Use the Display Interface: This interface allows you to easily monitor and review the license plates and vehicle details captured by the LPR camera.
- Benefits: Provides quick access to crucial data for security checks, vehicle monitoring, and traffic management.
Check Detailed Snap Information
Step 4: Click on the target image displayed in the right bar to view detailed snap information.
Snap Details Include:
- Basic Information: General data about the captured vehicle.
- Snap Picture: The image captured at the moment of detection.
- Original Image: The unprocessed image from which the snap was taken.
- Plate Number/Color: Details of the vehicle’s license plate.
- Vehicle Color/Brand/Type: Additional attributes of the vehicle, such as its color, brand, and type.
Why Check Snap Details: This information is critical for verifying vehicle identity, enforcing regulations, and managing parking and access control systems.
Benefits: Provides comprehensive data that can be used for further processing, security checks, and record-keeping.
