Titanium: Email notifications without less secure apps (Gmail) - Web Gui
Less secure apps is being discontinued by Google so this guide will go over what to do instead.
First we will have to set up app passwords which require 2-Step Verification.
Step 1: Navigate to your google account settings.
Step 2: Find the securities tab on the left. Find "2-Step Verification" and enable it. Once that is enabled, Click "App passwords".
Step 3: Click the drop down for "Select App" and then select "Other". You can name this whatever you want.
Step 4: Copy this password or write it down. You will use this in the email settings on the recorder instead of your Gmail account password.
(Please note that if you forget this password, you will have to delete it and create a new one)
Now we can move on to setting up the email notifications on the recorder.
Step 1: Log into the recorder using the local IP address. Enter the Username and Password for the system
Step 2: Find the settings menu located in one of the tabs across the top of the screen. Click on the Function Panel and click on “Email” that’s within the “Network” options. On the following screen, fill in the email details (Server, Port and Security details specific to whichever email client being used)
Step 3: To turn on email notifications for motion return to the Function Panel and click on “Motion” within the “Camera” options. On the next screen click on the “Processing Mode” button on the bottom right hand corner of the screen.
Step 4: To turn on email notifications for motion, drag the scrolling bar to the right to get to the last row labeled “Email”. Here you can switch notifications ON for individual cameras.
