This article provides a step-by-step guide for configuring the P2P (peer-to-peer) function on devices using the WEB 5.0 firmware. The instructions may vary slightly depending on the model and firmware version of your device.
What is P2P?
P2P technology enables users to manage devices easily without requiring DDNS, port mapping, or a transit server. By scanning a QR code with your smartphone, you can add and manage devices on the mobile phone client.
Steps to Set P2P
Login to the Device
- Access the device's web interface.
- Enter your login credentials to gain access.
Navigate to Network Settings
- Select
Network from the main menu.
Access Platform Access
- Go to
Platform Access. - Select
P2P.
Enabling P2P
Enable P2P
- Check the box to enable P2P.
- Once P2P is enabled, remote management of the device is supported.
- When the device is connected to the network, the status will show as "online."
Information Collection
The IP address, MAC address, device name, and device SN will be collected for remote access purposes only.
You can uncheck the enable selection to stop the collection of this information.
Connecting with Mobile Phone Client
Login to Mobile Phone Client
- Open the mobile phone client application.
- Tap
Device Management.
Add New Device
- Tap the
+ icon at the upper-right corner. - Scan the QR code displayed on the P2P page of the device's web interface.
Complete the Setup
Follow the on-screen instructions on your mobile device to complete the P2P setup.
