Setting Up ANPR on a Recorder

This article provides a detailed guide for configuring the Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) function on your Recorder. The system extracts the plate number from the surveillance video and compares it with specified plate information to trigger an alarm when a match is detected.
Ensure that your device model and firmware version support ANPR.


Step 1: Add Vehicle Block List and Allow List

Navigate to Vehicle Lists
Select Main Menu > AI.

Database > Vehicle Block list/Allow list.
Click Add.

Add Plate Information
Enter plate information such as plate number, car owner name, select Block List or Allow List, and set the validity period.
Click OK.

Step 2: Configure ANPR Alarm Rules

Navigate to ANPR Settings
Select Main Menu > AI > Parameters > ANPR.

Enable ANPR
Select a channel and then check the Enable checkbox to activate ANPR.
(Optional) Enable Sync Vehicle Block list/Allow list to synchronize the lists on the NVR to the connected camera.

Configure Alarm Types
Select General, Block List, or Allow List tab.
Note: Before enabling block or allow list alarms, add the corresponding plate information.

General: Triggers an alarm for any detected plate number.
Block List: Triggers an alarm for plate numbers on the block list.
Allow List: Triggers an alarm for plate numbers on the allow list.
 
 
Set Arming Period
Click Setting next to Schedule to configure the arming period.
The system triggers alarms only during the specified arming period.

Configure Alarm Linkage Actions
Set the actions that should occur when an alarm is triggered.

Save Settings
Click Apply to save the configurations.

Step 3: AI Search (ANPR)

Search for Detection Results
Select Main Menu > AI > AI Search > Motor Vehicle Detection.

Select a channel and set the parameters.

Click Search to display the results.
