This guide provides step-by-step instructions on setting up the Face Recognition feature on Titanium NVRs, specifically for models that support alarm triggers based on face comparison. If your device does not support face recognition, you can skip the face database and face recognition instructions. These settings are available only on firmware versions 1.4.9 and 1.4.10.
Access Face Detection Settings:
Login > Function Panel > AI/Event > AI Event > Face Recognition Detection. Select the camera, check “Enable Detection by IPC,” and set the detection duration.
Note:
Configure Schedule
Set the detection schedule by clicking “Manage.” Refer to Schedule Settings for details.
Configure Snapshot
Configure the snapshot interval and the number of snapshots the camera should take during the detection period. Enable face match exposure if needed, which is helpful in low-light conditions.
Set Alarm Area and Face Size:
Draw the detection area by dragging the mouse. Set the detectable face size by defining the maximum and minimum values. Enable the “Original picture” and/or “Target picture” settings to save images on the SD card. Click “Apply” to save the settings.
Apply and Configure Alarm Linkage:
Select “Trigger Mode” to configure the face detection alarm linkage.
If supported, enable “IPC_Audio” or “IPC_Light” for additional alarm responses.
Add Face Groups:
Navigate to Start > Settings > AI/Event > AI Event > Face Recognition > Face Database.
Click “+” or “Add Group” to create face groups.
Create a name for the group
Add Faces to Groups:
Save face images to a USB storage device, then connect it to the NVR.
In the face database interface, expand the group and click “Add” to import external faces. You can add single or multiple faces, with descriptions in CSV or TXT format. The images must be in .jpg or .jpeg format and less than 70KB.
Import/Export Face Database:
Use the “Import and Export” option to transfer face database settings between NVRs via USB storage devices.
Enable Recognition:
After adding faces to the database, go to the face recognition setting interface. Enable “Successful Recognition” or “Stranger” detection.
Set Recognition Parameters:
Configure similarity thresholds, disable live display if needed, and set alarm linkage items for successful or stranger recognitions. Configure text and voice prompts to alert you when a match is found or a stranger is detected.
Set Alarm Linkage for Strangers:
Configure the system to trigger alarms when a stranger is detected (i.e., a face that doesn't match any in the database or has a lower similarity score). Set up the necessary schedule and alarm responses.
Add/Delete Recognition Tasks:
Add new recognition tasks as needed by clicking “+”. To remove a task, select it and click “–”.
Face recognition on Titanium NVRs allows for advanced security measures through face comparison and alarm triggers. By following these steps, you can effectively set up and manage face recognition, ensuring your surveillance system operates efficiently and securely.
