Diamond IPC || Adding Doorbell (HNC2DB112-W) to DMSS

Diamond Series: How to Set Up The Doorbell Camera (HNC2DB112-W) to DMSS APP

There are two scenarios of how to install the doorbell camera to your household or business.
a. Add the doorbell camera on the side of the existing doorbell button.
b. To replace the conventional door button and connect to the existing mechanical/electric door chime.

If adding the doorbell camera on the side of the existing doorbell button, please simply run an additional 2-wire power cable to the doorbell camera (power input port) and feed it with either DC12~24V or AC16~24V power.

If you are going to replace the original door button with a doorbell camera and connect to the existing mechanical/electric door chime, please follow the steps below.
a. Unplug the power wires from the mechanical/electric door chime.
b. Remove the cover from the mechanical chime to expose the electrical terminals.
c. Disconnect the existing wires from the FRONT and the TRANS terminals.

d. Connect the wire harness to the input port on the Chime Kit.
c. Attach the end of the live wire to the TRANS terminal on the mechanic/electric chime. Attach the other wire to the FRONT                terminal.
e. The final wiring diagram will be similar to the following.

After the installation of the doorbell camera, please download the DMSS app, please go to Apple’s App Store or Google’s Play Store. This guide will be written with the Android OS in mind, but should be suitable enough to follow for the Apple iOS.
a. Please go to the Play Store on the phone and search for “DMSS”. The search results should show an Icon and description such      as this one.

b. After hitting “Install”, the APP will ask for permission to access a number of your phone functions. Please allow all                            permissions to all the needed functions for the APP. Then press on “Open” after the phone finishes the installation of the APP.

c. When opening the APP, it will lead you to the welcome screen. Please press on “Enter” to start the configuration of DMSS.

d. You will need to select a region. You may select the United States text that is near the top of the screen. This will take you to           the USA option. Then press “Done” on the top-right hand corner of the screen.

e. Then the APP will show you a notice on the screen. If you’re the new DMSS user, you may tap “Skip” to go to the next step. If           you wish to export the device list from old gDMSS/iDMSS Plus and import the list into DMSS, you may click on “Watch Video”         for more instructions. Otherwise, you will be led to the main menu.

f. For the security purposes, the doorbell camera will need to be added under a DMSS account. If you’re the first-time user, please     create a new account prior adding the device to the APP. You may click on “Me” button on the bottom-left corner of the screen       and hit “LOG IN” to start the process.

g. If you already had an account with gDMSS/iDMSS account, you may log in with existing account information, including the              registered email address and password. If not, please hit “Sing Up” to create a new account. You will need to enter your email        address as well as set up a password. Then check the box on terms and conditions on the bottom of the screen in order to              make the “Get verification code” button ready to click. Once you confirm all the information and click on “Get verification                  code”,  you will receive a verification code in your email that used to register DMSS. Please input the verification code to the            DMSS to finish the process of account registration.

h. Once you finish the account registration process, you will see your account number showing on the top of the screen. Then you      can start adding the device to the APP by clicking the “Home” button on the button-left corner of the screen.

Press the “+” icon on the upper right hand corner of the screen to add a device. Generally, you will add the system by Scan (for P2P) or by IP/Domain (for port forwarding).

The next page screen (for P2P) will ask for scanning a barcode on the doorbell camera. Please find the QR code of the doorbell, which will be located on the back of the doorbell.

After scanning the QR code of the doorbell, it shows the Device SN#. Simply hit “Next” to proceed to the next page which will ask you to connect the power to the doorbell. If you have a brand new doorbell camera, you may press on “Next” to go to the next step. Otherwise, please press and hold the reset button for 10 seconds to factory default the doorbell. You may find the reset button on the back of the doorbell camera.

It will take a few seconds to a minute or so to have your phone connect to the hotspot of your doorbell camera so that we can activate the device first and later push the local wifi information to the doorbell. Please remember the password you set for the doorbell camera. Otherwise, input your email address for password reset. Double check your password before clicking “OK” for the next step.

The next page will take you to select the available wifi in the location. Please select the one that you want your doorbell connected to and input the correct “Wi-FI Password” of your choice. Then hit “Next” and proceed to the next step.

After pushing the local wifi password to the doorbell camera, the device will try to link to the local wifi as selected. The whole process might take a minute or so until you hear the audio voice from the doorbell say “Successfully connect to network” and the doorbell LED becomes solid blue instead of spinning/rolling blue. If you wait more than 5 minutes without hearing anything from the doorbell, please click on “Add Again” and go back a step.

If you happen to see the screen as below. Please try the steps as the following:
a. Confirm if the network configuration has been successful.
b. Confirm if Wi-Fi network is working normally
c. Confirm if the blue LED glows on doorbell
d. If everything in a, b, and c is checked and working normally, click on “Please try again” button to have your phone communicate      with the doorbell again.
e. If you still get the same screen after all, please try to reboot your phone and start over the process from the beginning.

 

After the doorbell successfully connected to the local wifi network, you will be taken to the page for entering the device name and password which you’ve already created on Step# 6. Hit “Save” on the top right corner of the screen for Time Zone and DST settings. In the end, you may click on “Next” and proceed to the last step of the setup.

To complete the entire setup, you will need to select the Chime Link where is associated to the type of the installation as mentioned on Step# 1. Then press “Completed” to end the doorbell setup. If the door camera is installed standalone without connecting to existing chime, you may click on “Skip” to end the setup and you will see a notice to ask for your confirmation. You will still finish the entire process when clicking “Are you sure to exit?”

After the process of adding the doorbell the DMSS, you will be led to the page of viewing your doorbell in Live. You may click on “<” button on the top left corner of the screen to return to the main menu, and you will see your doorbell camera added to the device list.

Now you are free to press the Call Button on your doorbell to test and confirm that you can receive the call when someone rings the bell. Once receiving the call on your phone, the DMSS APP will bring up a Live view page with Reject (red) or Answer (green) buttons. When pressing the green button, you may start a 2-way talk with the person who rings the bell.
