***Note: You must use Internet Explorer to view the system via web interface***
Before making the wifi camera capable of wifi connection for the IE Web interface access or NVR recording, two things are needed to be done beforehand.
Note: This camera does not do WPS.
First of all, connect the wifi antenna to the camera. In this instruction manual, we are going to use HNC3V141S-IR/28-W camera as an example.
Secondly, connect the DC12V power to the power lead of the camera and a Cat5e or Cat 6 Ethernet cable from the router, regular switch or PoE switch to the RJ-45 port of the camera.
To access the web client, please use a Windows based PC and use Internet Explorer as the web browser.
Access the recorder’s web interface by typing in the IP address on the address bar of Internet Explorer. The path should look like the following: “http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx” (Note: If the HTTP port has been changed from default, you will need to add the port number after the ip address by inserting a colon “:” in between the address and port number).
Install all requested web plugins that are prompted by Internet Explorer. Once installed, you may need to refresh, or restart the web browser. You may install the plugin by selecting “Run”.
After logging into the IPC GUI by entering username and password, select the “Setting” tab from the top then “Network” on the left of the screen.
After collapsing the drop-down button of the Network section on the left of the screen, click on “WIFI” to enter the wifi setting page.
Enable the WIFI function of the camera and you will see the camera start “Searching” the available wifi signal on the premises.
Once the camera finishes searching the available wifi, you will see a list of SSID or Access Points listed with the signal quality.
Select and click a SSID or Access Point that you wish to connect to. And a prompt window will be popped up and ask for the password for the SSID selected. After inputting the password, please click “Connection” to move forward to the next step.
If the password entered correctly, the wifi camera will connect to your wifi device (e.g. wifi router) successfully in a few seconds. Then you will see the status of wifi info shows “Connected”.
Now, you should be able to unplug the ethernet cable from the camera and start using the wifi capability of the wifi camera. Please keep the DC12V power connected at all times for the wifi camera.
To log into the wifi camera via the wireless connection, you may access the IPC WEB via the new IP address of the camera. In this case, “192.168.1.173” will be the IP address for the camera WEB interface, and it is also the IP address to add to the NVR for the recording.
