How to Set Up FTP Storage on an IPC (Web 5.0)

This article provides a step-by-step guide for configuring FTP storage on an IPC using the Web 5.0 firmware. The instructions may vary slightly depending on the model and firmware version of the device.

Ensure that the device model and firmware version support FTP storage. This tutorial is based on the Web 5.0 firmware interface.


Steps to Set Up FTP Storage

Login to the Device

Access the device's web interface.
Enter your login credentials to gain access.

Navigate to Record Settings

From the homepage, select Record.

Access Storage Settings

Go to Record > Storage.

Select Recording Mode When Disk is Full

Choose the appropriate recording mode for when the disk is full:
Overwrite: Cyclically overwrite the earliest video when the disk is full.
Stop: Stop recording when the disk is full.

Select FTP Storage Method

Choose Network Storage in the Storage Method section.
Select FTP to save the recorded videos on an FTP server.
Note: You can also select SFPT from the drop-down list. SFTP is recommended to enhance network security.

Configure FTP Parameters

Server IP: Enter the IP address of the FTP server.
Port: Enter the port number of the FTP server.
Username: Enter the username to log in to the FTP server.
Password: Enter the password to log in to the FTP server.
Storage Path: Specify the destination path on the FTP server (shared by default).
Emergency Storage: Select Emergency (Local) to save files to the internal SD card if the FTP server is unavailable.

Enable and Test FTP Function

Click Enable (1).
Click Apply to save the FTP configurations (2).
Click Test to verify that the FTP function works correctly (3).
